In a collaboration that’s sure to have music fans buzzing, Sabrina Carpenter has enlisted the legendary Dolly Parton for a remix of her hit track “Please Please Please,” set to drop as part of the deluxe edition of her Grammy-winning Short n’ Sweet album in February. This collaboration marks a momentous fusion of contemporary pop and country icons, blending two generations of talent into one unforgettable track.
The remix of “Please Please Please” isn’t the only exciting addition to the deluxe album—Carpenter is also gifting fans with a fresh batch of bonus tracks. The upcoming expanded edition will feature songs like “15 Minutes,” “Couldn’t Make It Any Harder,” “Busy Woman,” and the intriguingly titled “Bad Reviews.”
Sabrina Carpenter announced the big news to her followers on Instagram, expressing her gratitude for the success of Short n’ Sweet and its two Grammy wins. “As a thank you for giving this album 2 Grammys :’),” she wrote, “short n’ sweet deluxe is now available for pre-order.. and yes that does say featuring Miss Dolly Parton…. 💋💋💋she wouldn’t want me to swear but holy shit!!!!!” It’s clear that Carpenter is over the moon about the collaboration, though we can’t help but wonder if the addition of Dolly Parton to the remix will lead to some changes in the song’s famously explicit lyrics. Known for her wholesome image and dislike of profanity, it remains to be seen whether the infamous “motherfucker” lyric will be adjusted to make way for Parton’s family-friendly influence.
The timing couldn’t be better for this surprise partnership. Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet album earned her two Grammy awards on the same night—Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance for the smash hit “Espresso.” On the night of the Grammys, Carpenter also wowed audiences with a performance that combined the two tracks “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.” Her performance was a riotous mix of slapstick comedy, complete with pratfalls, all while paying homage to Goldie Hawn’s 1970s comedy specials.
Both songs have been massive hits, with “Espresso” reaching No. 6 on the Variety Hitmakers Top 25, while “Please Please Please” charted at No. 14. With the addition of Dolly Parton, this remix is set to take the track to even greater heights, creating an exciting blend of pop and country influences.
As we eagerly await the release of the deluxe edition, one thing is certain: when Sabrina Carpenter and Dolly Parton team up, it’s bound to be magic—legendary surprises and all!
